We had gone to war to help get supplies to the Russians. We were feeling excited about going on an adventure. But now we were all nervous and scared. This is when I thought that my life was going to waste.
We were 2 km from shore. I heard hearts pounding and soldiers crying. Suddenly there was a spark of light. I heard the Sergeant shout “We’ve been exposed !”

I am learning to write a recount.
I am proud of being able to write a recount with some good ideas.
It can be tricky to use descriptive words.
My Teacher could help me if I was stuck.
My next learning step is to practise writing in paragraphs.

You have put a lot of effort into writing your ANZAC Recount. I am impressed with some of the descriptive words that you have used to make your writing seem real and the short sentences that add effect to your writing.
